Harvey’s Tales is excited to re-open to the public on May 29th as part of the Phase 3 Restore Illinois plan. For the health and safety of our customers and employees the following conditions will apply. Changes will be made to these policies based on information from the CDC, Illinois Department of Commerce and Illinois Public Health officials, but FOR NOW:

• MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES
• SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE PRACTICED
• WE REQUIRE THAT YOU SANITIZE YOUR HANDS UPON ENTRY (SANITIZER PROVIDED INSIDE THE DOOR)
• GLOVES CANNOT BE WORN IN THE STORE. PLEASE REMOVE THEM AND SANITIZE YOUR HANDS
• OCCUPANCY LEVELS WILL BE MONITORED AND WE MAY HAVE TO ASK YOU TO WAIT OUTSIDE FOR A FEW MINUTES
• WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO BROWSE BUT PLEASE ONLY TOUCH THE PRODUCTS YOU MAY WISH TO BUY
• THE COFFEE BAR IS OPEN BUT THERE IS NO INDOOR SEATING
• ALL SEATING INSIDE THE STORE HAS BEEN REMOVED UNDER THE CURRENT CONDITIONS
• WE ENCOURAGE PAYMENT VIA CREDIT CARD OR APPLE/GOOGLE PAY, BUT WE WILL ACCEPT CASH
• THERE WILL BE ONE WAY ENTRY INTO THE STORE (THRU THE FRONT) AND ONE-WAY EXIT (THRU THE SIDE DOOR)
• ELEVATOR WILL BE SHUT DOWN UNLESS NEEDED BY A GUEST
• RESTROOM WILL BE CLOSED
• NO BOOKCLUBS OR GATHERINGS CAN BE HELD AT THIS TIME

CURBSIDE PICKUP – We will continue to take orders over the phone (630-232-2991) and via email at harveystales@gmail.com. Simply place your order along with your phone number and we will get your CC info and arrange for the day and time of your pick up. Curbside pick-up is available during our store hours.

SHIPPING – We will happily ship your purchase to you! Simply contact the store either over the phone or by email and place your order. Let us know you’d like the order shipped to you and provide us with your address (or the address you want it shipped to) and payment information and we’ll take care of that! A shipping charge will be applied but we ship via media mail whenever allowed to keep the costs low.

AT RISK GUESTS – If you have a medical condition that puts you at a higher risk of contracting Covid 19, but would still like to shop at the store, just give us a call and we can discuss a private shopping experience either before or after the store hours on certain days.

GIFT CARDS – We continue to offer our gift cards in any denomination over $5.00. You can pick them up using curbside pickup or we can mail them to you or to the recipient.

SPECIAL ORDERS – If the book you want is not in stock at our store, we will happily order that book for you. When it comes in, we’ll give you a call!

AUDIO BOOKS – For those of you who enjoy listening to your books, we have an affiliation with Libro.fm. Go to Libro.fm for more information. If you select Harvey’s Tales as your bookstore while on the site, we will receive a small percentage of your purchase. Just another way you can support Harvey’s Tales.

BOOK SHOPPING OPTION – We have an affiliation with Bookshop.org. It’s a website where you can search for your next favorite book.
